THURSDAY, April 20      Thursday in Easter Week

Psalm 8:4-5 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars you have set in their courses, what is man that you should be mindful of him? the son of man that you should seek him out?

One of the gifts of living in Colorado is having access to wilderness preserves—areas that still feel wild, places where we can escape from noise and light pollution. We recently took our son camping. It was wonderful to share time as a family, cooking over the camp stove, witnessing the twilight fade to night. Our son helped us marvel at skittering lizards, quaking and trembling aspen leaves, and giant pine trees that were silhouetted like enormous mascara wands against the evening sky.

The most spectacular part was the show-stopping star party God threw every night. Oh, the sheer number of stars one could see with the naked eye! What a reminder about being a creature before the awesomeness of the living God.

MOVING FORWARD: Gaze at the sky tonight. Make a wish and say a prayer.
