Acts 26:16 But get up and stand on your own feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you to serve and testify to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you.
Slowly I am learning new perspectives from ancient spiritual writings. When my faith journey includes seeking to empty myself of my own assumptions, fears, and earthly desires, I become more open to loving and being loved as God loves.
Fourteenth-century mystic Catherine of Siena articulates this experience: “He will provide the way and the means, such as you could never have imagined. Leave it all to him, let go of yourself, lose yourself on the Cross, and you will find yourself entirely.”
MOVING FORWARD: With what would you most like for God to fill you? How might that change the way you pray this week?
