MONDAY, December 25      Christmas Day

Titus 3:4-7 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. This Spirit he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Jesus saved us, and saves us still, with his love. Jesus does not come to save us because of anything we have done or because of anything we failed to do. God has sent Jesus to us because we need him to illustrate explicitly how we are to love each other and love God. And now we have the grace of God, the renewal of the Holy Spirit, and the hope of eternal life.

God has come to us, clothed in our skin. Love is here. Love is saving us, giving us grace upon grace.

Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those whom God favors! Amen.

MOVING FORWARD: Be not afraid! Enjoy the peace and holiness of this day with those you love.
