Matthew 13:33 [Jesus] told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour until all of it was leavened.”
As a bread maker, I have learned that the littlest things count most. Bread can be ruined by too little or too much yeast, too little or too much salt. A loaf can be underproofed or overproofed, underbaked or overbaked. I experience something of a miracle when I bite into a good loaf, because it represents a whole symphony of tiny elements coming together beautifully.
So small, yet so powerful—this is what the kingdom of God is like!
