Mark 5:19 But Jesus refused, and said to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and what mercy he has shown you.”
They plead with Jesus to leave their community. Jesus moves to comply, and the freshly exorcised man begs to follow. Jesus says goodbye at the dock and commissions the man to start preaching the gospel.
What does Jesus see in this man? Gratitude seems the likely answer. He is so joyfully grateful, so filled up with the mercy and goodness of Jesus that he is more than happy to share the good news of Jesus Christ with anyone who will listen.
MOVING FORWARD: Tell someone today what God has done for you and the mercy you have been shown.
