John 1:50 Jesus answered, “Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than these.”
Imagine standing in a forest listening to the sound of rushing water and thinking there could be no better gift than that sound. But then you walk and find that the sound comes from a beautiful river and you want nothing more than to stand marveling at the clean water. Only there’s more—the river is full of fish, wondrous multi-colored trout. And as you follow them around a bend, you find a friend standing in the river with a line in the water.
Jesus helps us access this abundance. As we spend time discovering the hidden treasures of a life in Christ, we begin to understand that there is no limit to what is offered or how he will feed us in our bodies, minds, and souls. We have only to see greater things than these.
MOVING FORWARD: Write a love letter to your 40-year-old self. This may be a letter to the future version of yourself, or a past version.
Today the Church remembers Saint Michael and All Angels.
