WEDNESDAY, January 3

John 6:21 Then they wanted to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the land toward which they were going.

We are going to capsize! This storm is too powerful. Howling all around us and roaring inside of me. I am so very sorry I brought you out here. I should have known better. I’m no sailor. I can’t even keep myself afloat.

Everything seemed so clear beside the manger in the stable. We went back out into the night filled with determined joy to share with the world. But that seems so long ago and now Jesus feels so far away.

I can barely hear you above the storm raging in my heart. Move over? What do you mean “make room?” Make room for who? Oh, Jesus, it’s you! You found us!

The storm inside me calms. The strong winds of fear become a gentle breeze, the crashing waves of doubt now simply a ripple.

We are ashore. Our feet are on the ground. You have loved us to a better place.

MOVING FORWARD: When has Jesus calmed the stormy seas of your life? Share your story with someone who may be sailing in rough waters.
