Psalm 87:6 The singers and the dancers will say, “All my fresh springs are in you.”
There’s a kind of joy that comes from this security of knowing that I am loved. Bad things may happen, yes, and there will be consequences for the dumb things I do and say, but they won’t result in losing the love others have for me. Many of us feel unconditional love as children, but as we grow older that kind of love is harder to come by. We gradually realize as we age that there are no truly safe spaces, that pain and rejection are inevitable risks of living a life connected to other people.
Yet we do find people who love us unconditionally, and we remember that the deepest parts of us are valued and treasured. Perhaps the singers and dancers from Psalm 87 felt that security. May you find yourself deeply and fully loved—and perhaps dancing—today.
