SATURDAY, February 1                   Brigid of Kildare

Genesis 18:1 The LORD appeared to Abraham by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat at the entrance of his tent in the heat of the day.

Abraham, Sarah, and Jesus call us to pay attention to the whens and wheres of our lives. When will we love God with our heart, mind, and soul? When will we believe the promises of God? Where are the places we need to bring the love of God? Where are we seeking and finding God?

The questions of when and where shape our human experience. Time matters to us. Location holds our bodies and our attention. God exists as the encounter of all the whens and wheres—in our lives and in all of creation.

Faith requires we trust the when and where of God. Eternal life celebrates faith in the when and where of God. Jesus shows us the importance of now and the necessity of living in the kingdom of God.

MOVING FORWARD: When and where are you encountering God? Are there places and times when you need to be more open to the presence and love of the Lord?
