THURSDAY, October 10

Matthew 9:18 While [Jesus] was saying these things to them, suddenly a leader of the synagogue came in and knelt before him, saying, “My daughter has just died; but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.”

I was born with a 5 percent chance of survival. Because they could not afford medical care, my parents took me home to die. My dad was working on a thesis about miraculous healing and a verse from James (5:14) came to his heart.

My family and a neighbor anointed me with oil and prayed over me. Through their hands, Jesus laid a hand on me, and I lived. Because of my earliest experience in life, I often talk to people about miracles and believing in what God can do.

Sometimes our dreams, hopes, and relationships die. It takes a lot of courage to ask Jesus to place his hand on whatever we need to be resurrected or healed. Let me encourage you: Miracles are a prayer away. I am living proof of what Jesus can and will do.
