Mark 2:25 [Jesus] said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need of food?”
The poor Pharisees begin to pontificate upon the law and the rules and what is “right.” On the other hand, Jesus tries to reveal larger truths about the sabbath and faith. Jesus points out to them their latest adventure in missing the point.
The bulk of Mark is about the balance between worshiping, showing respect and intention, and trying to live out a vow made to honor God. We do not get to stand by and watch suffering and choose to do nothing based on a human standard or expectation. Jesus has shown us how to do better, how to get the point.
MOVING FORWARD: Do you have an adventure in missing the point? Share it with us by using #ForwardDayByDay.
