John 6:18-20 The sea became rough because a strong wind was blowing. When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were terrified. But he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.”
Over time, I have discovered that muscling through the song often weakens my playing. So, what am I to do? I’ve learned that I must relax. I use techniques to relax my hands and arms while I play. Then, the fastest notes come easily.
In a similar way, Jesus reminds us to relax and rest. When we become preoccupied with different issues, especially with things we cannot control, we hinder our progress and performance. But, if we learn to put our faith in Jesus, we find peace in our lives and strength to carry on.
MOVING FORWARD: What is your favorite way to relax? Commit to it for a set time each day this week.
