Psalm 16:5-6 O Lord, you are my portion and my cup; it is you who uphold my lot. My boundaries enclose a pleasant land; indeed, I have a goodly heritage.
There can also be unhealthy boundaries in our lives. We erect walls with our egos, fear, greed, and insecurity. We hide our true selves behind these awful walls. We build them between ourselves and other children of God we perceive as different or frightening, too “other” to stand next to.
When we take on Christ as the foundation of our being and sole source of our meaning, those walls come tumbling down. When we begin to reevaluate and deeply consider our boundaries to include all God’s creation, all God’s children, we experience a pleasant land and goodly heritage.
MOVING FORWARD: When was the last time you evaluated your boundaries? Is it time to do some relationship housekeeping?
