SUNDAY, October 17                  21 Pentecost

Isaiah 53:10 Yet it was the will of the LORD to crush him with pain. When you make his life an offering for sin, he shall see his offspring, and shall prolong his days; through him the will of the LORD shall prosper.

I believe that this verse offers us a new hope. Our plans and projects are part of God’s life in our own lives. It’s something of a promise dressed up as a certainty that insists that whatever we do, this plan will bear good fruit because it’s in the Master’s hands.

To this verse from Isaiah I would add one more from the psalms: “Commit your way to the Lord and put your trust in him, and he will bring it to pass” (37:5). God’s work is fulfilled in you and me in the measure we offer up our life and our all to him. God keeps his promises.

The Lord your God will watch over you. I speak from experience. Since I decided that God would direct my steps and my whole life, I feel and I know that all will turn out well.

MOVING FORWARD: Be deliberate today in committing each of your daily tasks to God.
