MONDAY, October 18                  Saint Luke

Psalm 147:7 Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make music to our God upon the harp.

How important it is in life to give thanks! And I’m not just talking about doing it on Thanksgiving Day: We ought to be thankful always and at all times for everything that has come our way in the perfect plan for our life that God has designed.

Thanking God is nothing new. There are many episodes in the Bible about heroes (including military heroes) who gave thanks to God at all times, no matter what the circumstances were. God will multiply a hundredfold every gift offered up in thanksgiving.

Talk to God about how grateful you are for everything you have received: your work, your home, your parents, your friends, your blood relatives, and also the family of faith you meet when you gather for worship. I believe that the most special moment of the day is every moment we give thanks for something.

MOVING FORWARD: Write out a list of things and people for which you are thankful. Include the list in your prayers.
