Mark 16:20 And they went out and proclaimed the good news everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by the signs that accompanied it.
Tell them, he urges me, that the good news can fill their hearts and lives just as the scent of coffee brewing and breakfast cooking fills a house in the morning. Tell them to take up their own cross—pull it right up out of the ground—and walk on toward the promise of the kingdom of God. Hammers have two ends, he reminds me. One does drive the nails through wood, but the other end pulls the nails out. Tell them that’s what God’s love can do.
MOVING FORWARD: Which end of the hammer do you use most often? How will you practice becoming proficient with the other end?
