2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
I sent participants home with a handout suggesting several ways to explore and document aspects of their spiritual journey. One suggestion was to write their own spiritual obituary. In today’s epistle reading, Paul seems to know his time is short. His letters form an integral part of his legacy, but they bear a much longer and deeper witness to his faith journey than an obituary would.
Ponder your own spiritual obituary. What are the important high points—both of God’s presence and seeming absence in your life? What is your spiritual legacy?
MOVING FORWARD: Carve out some time this week to learn more about spiritual autobiographies and how they can become tools for prayer and self-reflection.
