Psalm 105:4-5 Search for the LORD and his strength; continually seek his face. Remember the marvels he has done, his wonders and the judgments of his mouth.
Perhaps some of us have lost our hearts, our ability to love. But God can give them back to us. God plans that each one of us should be a complete person, with good health, intelligence, and wholesome emotions. Some people are handicapped by causes that are contrary to God’s will, and some have cold hearts.
So God frankly appeals to our emotions. God sends us to the stable door and lets us see the babe in the manger. Everywhere at Christmas time, there is more sympathy, more tenderness, more love. God is warming our hearts.
And it is God’s purpose that we should grow in love. Instead of taking pride in being cool, reserved, and unemotional, we should try to encourage and develop in ourselves the qualities of sympathy, warmth of feeling, outgoing love. For love is of God.
MOVING FORWARD: Write yourself a sticky note that says, “Good Morning, God!” Stick this note on your bathroom mirror.
