WEDNESDAY, June 19

Luke 20:38 Now he is God not of the dead, but of the living; for to him all of them are alive.

We call them “leaps of faith,” and they represent the physical manifestation of risk, effort, hope, and belief all in one swift motion. Many of us find it easier to keep our feet on the ground, raising the same kinds of questions as the Sadducees.

Seven brothers all marry the same woman and are all childless, so whose wife will she be at the resurrection? This is the kind of question that keeps the asker busy and occupied enough to not truly consider the risk and effort involved in taking a leap of faith.

I have faith that the principal tenants of our faith are true—my faith takes risk and effort. I choose to believe that Jesus is who he claims to be, and my belief in Jesus provides me with meaning, worth, and hope beyond measure.

MOVING FORWARD: When was your last leap of faith? How will you plan for your next one?
