Psalms 90:10 The span of our life is seventy years, perhaps in strength even eighty; yet the sum of them is but labor and sorrow, for they pass away quickly and we are gone.
Some people say they’re okay with such a short existence followed by non-existence. To each his or her own. However, many people endure lives marked by one tragedy or trauma after another; it never lets up. If all there is after they die is nothingness, there is no resolution, no happy ending, and no justice. To me, this is unthinkable.
I believe there is something beyond these few orbits around the sun. Jesus, through his selfless defeat of death, offers everyone the greatest payoff in the universe: life eternal. His death and resurrection give us not only life eternal but a life eternal marked by inexpressible joy, peace, love, and harmony.
