THURSDAY, January 2

Psalm 1:4-6 It is not so with the wicked; they are like chaff which the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked shall not stand upright when judgment comes, nor the sinner in the council of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked is doomed.

From the Archives:
Saturday, November 16, 1935 What is the teaching of Christ about: war and peace; the training of youth; the economic injustices of our day; race barriers? Review the resolutions you have made this week. Talk out these subjects with others. Agree upon mutual action—no matter how slight.

Some practical suggestions are: 1. Treat every man as a brother and every woman as a sister. 2. Share privileges with others. 3. Dispel bigotry and intolerance by sympathy and understanding. 4. Cherish childhood. 5. Replace competition by cooperation. 6. Support democracy by realism in civic affairs. Advocate international equity and friendship. 7. Live the sacrificial, creative life in Christ.

MOVING FORWARD: How does today’s meditation make you feel about your own resolutions?
