Revelation 7:11-12 And all the angels stood around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, singing, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen!”
The powerful scenes described in Revelation represent an attempt by the author to convey the glory of a redeemed universe. We see numerous scenes of splendorous worship. I am grateful to be reminded by these passages that my true fulfillment as a human being is to enjoy the unfiltered presence of God, with no desire for it to ever end. In the meantime, celebrating the eucharist gets me ready for that.
