Psalm 42.1 As the deer longs for the water-brooks, so longs my soul for you, O God.
Some days I lose track of time, and suddenly it’s 3 p.m. and I’m starving. What’s in the staff fridge—nothing? Anyone bring treats in today? No? Now what?! In being sucked up by the unaware-ness of working without being entirely present to myself or my needs, I unintentionally disown my hunger and other needs.
God’s love abides, no matter when we meet. That yearning for oneness with our source is the force of life itself. If we’re not reaching for God in each moment, we’re reaching for things that can neither soothe nor save us.
MOVING FORWARD: How can you be more aware of the needs of your body and soul, even when you are busy?
