Romans 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with him by baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
Praying the Examen helps me come to terms with those areas in which I failed myself, my church, and my God. And it helps me to rejoice in those areas in which I allowed Christ to triumph in me. It helps me die to myself daily and rise in glory with Christ.
After I pray the Examen, I always feel like I’m “walking in newness of life.” We know we won’t get everything right in this life, but our faith isn’t about getting it right. It’s about turning back to God when we stray from the path. Walking in newness of life is a good feeling.
MOVING FORWARD: Do some research on the Examen. Try praying along with it this week.
