SATURDAY, May 22                  [Helena of Constantinople]

Psalm 33:22 Let your loving-kindness, O LORD, be upon us, as we have put our trust in you.

To put your hope in the Lord is one of the biggest steps in walking the path Jesus has set for us. When you trust in something or someone, you have confidence in that thing or that person. But hope also acknowledges the possibility that your desire may not be fulfilled. When you hope in the Lord, you are being bold despite uncertainty; you trust in the Lord for goodness to come unto you.

I have great hope that I can use music to help people experience or understand their feelings. Each time I sing, I put my whole heart into the lyrics, the vowel shapes, my breath support, and the audience. Even if the audience is just one other person, they will have the most meaningful version of me in those moments. As I have grown alongside this hope, I have begun to trust that God is present in those moments as well, helping anyone who is listening encounter whatever they are meant to experience. I have begun to trust that God’s voice is in mine.

MOVING FORWARD: In what ways is God speaking through you?
