John 9:35 Jesus heard that they had driven him out, and when he found him, he said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?”
Every Sunday, we pray for peace. But how can there be peace when we bring our judgments into our places of worship? How can there be peace when we do not allow ourselves to be peaceful?
When offered the sign of peace, do we accept it, or do we just wave it off? Is it sincere, or is it just a gesture? Jesus continuously reminds us not to worry about the situations around us and to focus our faith on God. These are different ways of preaching peace to us.
To start the work of peace, we must first listen to those around us. When we listen, when we put our faith in God, when we welcome others, we will find peace.
MOVING FORWARD: Seek out someone different from you, and listen to their story.
