WEDNESDAY, January 24

John 5:25 Very truly, I tell you, the hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

Suppose we could travel back in time to the hillsides surrounding the Sea of Galilee and seek the man we have heard so much about? The one who blesses, forgives, and heals. The man who most astonishingly can raise the dead. Let’s go.

There he is now. We hear something holy in the timbre of his voice and the look in his eyes. He sounds like blessed peace. Somehow, our souls understand what our intellect cannot comprehend.

Love—even for our enemies—begins rolling away the stone from the tomb where we have buried it. Even the places in our hearts that our enemies are certain they have killed—the place where we can even love them—has risen from the dead.

MOVING FORWARD: What word of peace do you need to hear? What word of peace can you offer to another?
