THURSDAY, October 24

Matthew 12:18 Here is my servant, whom I have chosen, my beloved, with whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles.

We tell each other the lies that we are not enough, that we are not loved by God because of who we love or because we are different. But what would you do if you knew God chose you? What would you say if you knew you were God’s beloved? How would you act if you knew God’s soul is well pleased with you?

All of us have a purpose. All of us were created with love, for love, and by love. All of us are chosen, and God is well pleased with us. We are servants of God and that means we have all been chosen and counted as beloved.

I have felt abandoned and thrown away by people who promised to love me. When that happened, I felt discarded, unworthy, and ashamed. And then, here came God with words of hope and love.

MOVING FORWARD: Tell someone today: You are God’s chosen—God’s beloved—and God is well pleased with you.
