SUNDAY, April 26                           3 Easter

Luke 24:30-32 When he was at the table with them, he took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him; and he vanished from their sight. They said to each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he was talking to us on the road, while he was opening the scriptures to us?”

I will always think of the road to Emmaus as the freeway to every corner of the universe. At the moment when Jesus traveled down its dusty turnings, there was no limit to where it could go. All the barriers and barricades are gone; the way to eternity is open.

Thankfully, every road can lead to Emmaus when we invite Jesus to travel its length and breadth beside us. And that road can go everywhere. Most especially, it can lead me to those who speak differently than I do. Look differently. Believe differently. Vote differently than I do. The only road hazard is me.

MOVING FORWARD: Have you had an Emmaus moment? Share it with us by using #ForwardDayByDay.
