Luke 19:30-31 Go into the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find tied there a colt that has never been ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, “Why are you untying the colt?” just say this: “The Lord needs it.”
What if there was another village between the disciples and Jerusalem and another unridden colt? What if the owners wanted a better reason than “the Lord needs it”? Did that farmer later hear of the triumphant king who entered the holy city to a chorus of hosannas—on someone else’s colt? Maybe the farmer heard of Jesus’ crucifixion and wondered what sort of sticky situation he had dodged? Or did he hear of the resurrection and dream about what might have happened if he had said “yes”?
MOVING FORWARD: What is God asking you to do for Jesus today? How will you answer?
