Mark 5:32-33 He looked all around to see who had done it. But the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came in fear and trembling, fell down before him, and told him the whole truth.
The post-Christmas sales are long gone, and mid-winter ads encourage us to shop “the biggest sale of the season.” What season? The “Big Game/Valentine/pre-President’s Day” season? In the crowd that’s moving on from Christmas, we can chose to stand out as glowing bright spots, re-gifters of love.
Thousands witness Jesus’ power. The belief of a few bright spots stops him in his tracks, including the woman healed just by touching his cloak. It’s as if Jesus wants to gaze at her face so he can see what faith in action looks like. He must feel so encouraged—here is someone who understands that oftentimes doing, not seeing, is believing.
