FRIDAY, June 28

Psalm 102:27 But you are always the same, and your years will never end.

Everything tends toward entropy, disorder, and decay. At the end of the morning psalm, we are reminded just how big and timeless God is, especially when compared to the world around us. The laws of science do not apply to God. The psalmist reminds us that God is always the same and that God’s years are endless.

I find this reminder extremely helpful because even though I will perish and pass away in this world, I am a child of God. I am a child of the Eternal, and even though I may struggle with aches and pains, difficult relationships, or problems at work, there is something always to look forward to.

I shall live secure and be established in God’s presence.

MOVING FORWARD: Spend some extra time with Psalm 102 today.
