1 Thessalonians 5:4-5 But you, beloved, are not in darkness, for that day to surprise you like a thief; for you are all children of light and children of the day; we are not of the night or of darkness.
But where do Christians actually fit into all these interpretations, guesses, and outright speculation?
Paul reminds the Christians in Thessalonica, and all of us, that so long as we are living as “children of light” we won’t be surprised by the end times. To me, that means that as long as we are living in faith, hope, and love, we have nothing to fear.
Fear is a powerful thing, but so is love.
What does it mean to you to live as a child of light? What are your greatest fears today, and how do they keep you from loving your neighbor?
