FRIDAY, April 3                           Richard of Chichester

Mark 10:34 They will mock him, and spit upon him, and flog him, and kill him; and after three days he will rise again.

It is hard to hear Jesus talk about his death, especially in such an awful way. As his disciples, we are hungry to feel like children again, to see the living colors of God’s love all around us like a rainbow after the storm, like fish jumping through waves. We all want to swim with Jesus in oceans of grace.

We stand now, watching the sea meet heaven somewhere beyond our sight. The waves whisper timeless secrets across the sand. We cup foam ciphers in our hands but are left decoding the loops and whorls and capillaries of our palms.

We yearn to be transformed by this astounding love that will rise again.
