Psalm 136:1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his mercy endures for ever.
How might we pray this psalm as we remember our own history?
I’d start with, “Give thanks to God, who gave me a family in which I was loved, in which I was taught that God loves me, in which I was surrounded with music and art and books. Who speaks to me through friends, who has saved me from dangers and turned my failures into opportunities, who gives me hope in old age. For his mercy endures for ever.”
MOVING FORWARD: How will you remember your own history in this psalm as you pray along today?
