Genesis 22:13 And Abraham looked up and saw a ram, caught in a thicket by its horns. Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son.
When our relationship to God remains open and dynamic, we will have ears to hear new directions and eyes to see visions that give us compassion, love, and a desire to participate in the saving of lives. Once Abraham listens deeply, he sees solutions and blessings that he would have otherwise missed. Can you imagine the overflowing love of God in that moment—and the relief of Abraham and Isaac?
MOVING FORWARD: Have you ever been surprised by or reluctant to respond to God’s call? How might you tap into the strength and courage exhibited by Abraham?
