FRIDAY, April 5

Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

When you read through Acts and the letters Paul writes to his congregations, it is hard to deny that Paul suffers greatly for the sake of the gospel. Nevertheless, he is utterly convinced that nothing can separate him—or any of us—from God’s love and care.

All of us wrestle with the good, bad, and ugliness of life. In each of these spaces, the Trinity works to create something beautiful and useful out of our hearts and lives—messy or miraculous or middling as they may be. In every season of life, God is able to usher us into the fullness of life. May we rest in the assurance of our loving God as we lean on the lyrics of this song:

You make beautiful things.

You make beautiful things out of dust.

You make beautiful things out of us. (Gungor)

MOVING FORWARD: Commit these two verses from Romans to memory. Repeat them often!
