2 Samuel 7:5 Go and tell my servant David: Thus says the Lord: Are you the one to build me a house to live in?
It warms my heart to think of God letting David off this hook. We all need to be tut-tutted over on occasion. When we are home from the wars and our work or are weary and in need of rest, we can remember the lesson of this passage: We need not be responsible for every little thing.
MOVING FORWARD: When have you been let off the hook? How did you respond to this gift?
