TUESDAY, July 7

Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This passage and the ones surrounding it are some of my favorite Bible verses. I'm inclined to say, "I love this passage!" But using that word seems inappropriate when I think about the depth and power of God's love for us.

I don't think I'll ever understand what it truly means to be loved by God. Our words are so inadequate when it comes to describing the unbreakable bond that fills us and all creation, connecting us to one another and our creator. I can’t completely fathom it, but I am grateful for this boundless love.

This verse lifts up the limitless capacity of God's people to love and create. On days when I feel uncertain or inadequate, my smallness is put into context—and I feel the enormity of my connection to all the cosmos that God has filled with divine love.
