Psalm 120:1 When I was in trouble, I called to the Lord; I called to the Lord, and he answered me.
When I see a child crying and calling for the help of a parent, I usually try to intervene in a meaningful way. I give some side-eye toward the parent first. If the child continues to cry, I do a half-turn with my eyebrows raised. And maybe I say in my teacher voice, “Excuse me, I think your child needs you.”
My parents have never ignored me—not even when I was whining. So, when I call to God, I am certain God will answer me. I am certain that God is not too busy or too tired to answer my call—especially when I am in trouble. God is ready to hear our call right now. And God will never ignore us.
MOVING FORWARD: Call your mom or dad or another person who loved you into adulthood. Thank them for listening to your cries and responding to your needs.
