SATURDAY, February 9

Galatians 6:2, 5 Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. For all must carry their own loads.

Bear one another’s burdens. All carry their own loads. Which one is it? Every person for himself or herself, or we’re all in this together? What does Paul have in mind?

Maybe Paul is saying, “Your burdens are my burdens.”

In a very real sense, if I truly want to help in bearing your burdens, I must carry my own with integrity and compassion. Maybe Paul is insisting that personal responsibility frees us up to serve one another. By being responsible and carrying our own burdens well, we free ourselves up to bear each other’s.

MOVING FORWARD: Do you have a story of sharing and bearing burdens? Share it with #ForwardDayByDay.
